Bhor Ghat – Old Bombay Pune Road

(Graphics Credits: Veloviewer and Strava)

Location: Segment starts at Khopoli Bus Stand and end at Rajmachi Garden at Khandala top.

Rating: Hard. About 7.3 km at 7% average gradient.

Road Condition: Good

Traffic: Moderate. We need to watch out for ST buses.

USP: There are two climbs close to Bombay that are held in awe by cyclists…one is Matheran and the other is Bhor Ghat via the old NH4 highway. The climb starts out with a moderate gradient and then kicks up between the 2 – 6 km mark and eases out a bit before kicking up again for the last 1 km or so. The annual Bombay Pune race has given this climb legendary status with a King of the Mountain awarded for the first person to reach up.
